Bhopal, March 17 (NationPress) Manish Shankar Sharma, a prominent officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS) and Special Director General of Police (Indian Railways), has sadly passed away on Monday in a hospital located in New Delhi.
His last rites are set to occur in Bhopal. He had been battling cancer.
Sharma, a member of the 1992 IPS cadre, held a postgraduate degree in Internal Affairs and Public Policy from the University of California, specializing in international security and counter-terrorism.
In addition to his significant contributions in law enforcement and counter-terrorism, he was also adept in diplomacy and took part in United Nations peacekeeping missions across Europe.
