Guwahati, Feb 21 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma immersed himself in the Maha Kumbh on Friday, expressing that his experience was beyond words.

In a post on X, CM Sarma stated, "Words cannot encapsulate the essence of my immersion today at Triveni Sangam, which represents not merely a meeting of rivers but a fusion of faith, spirituality, and the heritage of millions of Santanis."

He also remarked, "#MahaKumbh serves as a sacred link between Manushya and Mahadev."

CM Sarma commended the arrangements provided by the Uttar Pradesh administration for the Maha Kumbh. He was joined by his wife, son, and daughter during this significant event.

On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) for allegedly attempting to tarnish the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj with unfounded claims.

In a response to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, CM Adityanath firmly countered the Opposition's accusations regarding the Maha Kumbh, asserting that it transcends political affiliations and is instead a celebration of society.

He highlighted that while the Assembly debated, over 56.25 crore devotees had bathed at the revered Triveni Sangam.

He condemned the Opposition's attempts to disseminate misinformation through misleading videos that targeted Sanatan Dharma, the Ganga, the Hindu faith, and the Mahakumbh.

"Such actions are not merely an attack on Sanatan beliefs but also a direct challenge to the faith of 56 crore devotees and to the spiritual fabric of India itself," he stated in the Assembly.

He further asserted: "The Maha Kumbh is not an affair of any specific party or government but rather a grand societal celebration."

The government's role, he asserted, is that of a humble facilitator, committed to fulfilling its duties with the highest level of integrity.

"We regard ourselves as entrusted servants in this role and will carry it out with complete dedication. Our profound respect for India's timeless traditions obliges us to honor and uphold them," he concluded.
