Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 8 (NationPress) The Kerala BJP president K. Surendran remarked on Saturday that as the BJP is poised for a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly polls, the INDIA Bloc has been significantly weakened and the Congress has been reduced to a mere regional entity.
“The BJP's success in Delhi is attributed to the development-focused policies of the Modi administration,” Surendran stated.
He noted that despite ruling Delhi for 15 years, the Congress has failed to secure even a single seat once again.
“They have now transformed into a regional party and lack the moral authority to lead the Opposition. The INDIA Bloc is now in tatters,” Surendran asserted.
He also highlighted that the Delhi electorate has taught a lesson to the corrupt regime of Arvind Kejriwal.
“With Kejriwal and Sisodia being ousted, the very survival of the Aam Aadmi Party is now questionable,” he added.
Surendran emphasized that Kejriwal's defeat is a significant setback for the traditional political rivals in Kerala, namely the ruling CPI-M-led Left and the Congress-led UDF, as they had previously shown solidarity with Kejriwal (in the Delhi Excise case).
“What transpired in Delhi serves as a warning to those who engage in corruption,” Surendran remarked.
Criticizing the two Communist parties (CPI-M and CPI), Surendran claimed that they also participated in the Assembly elections in Delhi but ended up with NOTA.
“These political parties are no longer relevant in Indian politics,” Surendran mocked.
Anil Antony, son of CWC member and former Defence Minister A.K. Antony, who serves as a national BJP office bearer, stated that the BJP's decisive victory is due to the double-engine government led by PM Modi.
“Kerala must also consider adopting a double-engine government, and that day is not too far away,” Anil Antony concluded.
