Srinagar, Feb 23 (NationPress) Growing concern is being expressed regarding the mysterious disappearance of three civilians in the Kulgam district of J&K.
Prominent figures such as Mian Altaf Ahmad, a member of the Lok Sabha from the National Conference (NC), along with Engineer Rashid, the leader of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), have voiced their serious apprehensions about these incidents.
As per reports from the families, the missing individuals—Reyaz Ahmad and Showkat Ahmad from Chandian Pajan, and Mukhtar Ahmad from Pratap Pora Lammer—vanished on the evening of February 13 after departing for a wedding at their maternal uncle’s residence in Ashmuji Bhan, Kulgam.
Despite reaching out to various relatives and friends, the families remain unable to locate their loved ones.
“We have submitted a missing person report at Qazigund Police Station,” the families stated.
A senior police official has confirmed the receipt of the missing report and assured that efforts to find the men are currently ongoing.
Local residents are being encouraged to share any information that may aid in the search.
Mian Altaf Ahmed has called for a swift investigation into the disappearance of these three civilians.
Expressing concern over the situation, Mian Altaf urged the administration to expedite their inquiries.
He also expressed his support for the families affected and pledged to provide any necessary assistance.
In parallel, Engineer Rashid's AIP has also raised alarms regarding these disappearances.
Sheikh Khursheed, a senior leader of AIP and MLA from Langate, described the situation as profoundly alarming and urged the authorities to enhance their search operations to secure the safe return of the missing individuals.
"The safety and welfare of every citizen must be the highest priority for the administration. We stand united with the affected families during this challenging time and will closely monitor the situation," Sheikh Khursheed remarked.
