Bengaluru, Jan 24 (NationPress) Numerous artists, musicians, and dancers from across India showcased their talents at a cultural fest held at one of the ashrams founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual leader and the visionary behind The Art of Living Foundation, an organization dedicated to humanitarian and educational efforts.
The program commenced with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar lighting a lamp, setting the stage for a celebration of the country’s rich spiritual heritage through various forms of art, music, and dance.
In an interview with IANS, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar expressed, "We are advocating for our art to preserve the pride and culture of our nation. The happiness of artists is vital; without it, safeguarding our culture becomes challenging. Otherwise, Western influences may overshadow our art. Thus, we aim to connect the youth in uniting our country through this event."
Reflecting on significant events like the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj and the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram temple, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar remarked, "This is a moment to take pride in our profound Indian culture and traditions. It heralds a positive change for our nation as we approach the Satyayug (age of truth)."
Artist Manisha Sathe, who performed at the event, shared her joy, stating: "Today’s program has truly brightened my day. Performing in front of 'Gurudev' (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s affectionate title) was an extraordinary experience. It felt like a blessing to have my family—spanning three generations—performing together on this stage. Today holds a special significance for me."
Srividya Sravamini, Director and Founder of the World Art and Culture Forum, emphasized, "Art is a powerful unifier for our nation. For the past four decades, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has established a platform that connects individuals and nations globally through art and culture, making it an essential medium for unity."
Artist Rani Kohinoor added, "Performing at the Art of Living Ashram was an incredible experience. The most remarkable aspect of today’s program was the absence of discrimination. Every artist had a chance to perform here, and I felt truly welcome."
