New Delhi, Feb 22 (NationPress) The Delhi Police is commemorating its 78th Raising Day with an array of welfare initiatives, featuring drug awareness campaigns, blood donation events, health check-up camps, and walkathons.
The festivities, which commenced on February 16, will wrap up on February 22, highlighting a week-long endeavor to promote health and well-being among Delhi Police personnel and the community.
As part of this celebration, the Welfare Vertical of Delhi Police has organized numerous programs in partnership with esteemed institutions such as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), RBL Bank, and various NGOs.
These initiatives encompass blood donation camps, health check-up drives, and stress management workshops aimed at enhancing the physical and mental health of police personnel.
A significant highlight of the Raising Day festivities is the drug-free campaign held at India Gate, where notable sports figures collaborated with Delhi Police to raise awareness about drug abuse.
Sarita Mor, an Arjuna Awardee and wrestling champion, shared her excitement and told IANS, "We have gathered at India Gate under the drug-free campaign. I am thrilled because, while we bring honor to our nation through sports, it is even more rewarding to contribute beyond sports and impact society positively."
Ravi Dahiya, an Olympic silver medalist, also expressed his support for this initiative.
"Keeping individuals away from drugs is vital, and I am honored to be part of this campaign. I participated in previous events as well. I encourage everyone to avoid drugs as much as possible," he stated to IANS.
Similarly, Sanjay Bhardwaj, a Dronacharya Awardee and esteemed cricket coach, remarked to IANS, "Drugs are a gateway to destruction these days. We must protect the youth from drugs, and the Delhi Police has taken a significant step in this direction. I urge everyone to stay drug-free."
Additionally, a blood donation camp was organized under the slogan 'Rakt Daan Maha Daan' in collaboration with AIIMS, where 123 officials and staff members voluntarily donated blood for this noble cause. Health check-up camps and stress management sessions were also conducted as part of the welfare initiatives.
