Jammu, Feb 6 (NationPress) The Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), G.P. Singh, made a visit to the Rajouri district in J&K on Thursday to assess the security situation in this border region.

An official from the CRPF stated that the visit aimed at boosting security measures in the unstable border area of Rajouri, where the DG observed several CRPF camps, evaluated operational tactics, and uplifted the morale of the troops.

During his two-day trip to Jammu and Kashmir, DG CRPF conducted inspections at the Kalakote facility and the newly set up Counter-Insurgency (CI) camp located at Kopratop in Thanamandi, a locality that has experienced a noticeable rise in terrorist activities over the last four years.

The CI camp, managed by the CRPF’s 237 Battalion, is strategically located to address militant threats and enhance the security presence in the region.

Throughout his visit, GP Singh engaged in comprehensive discussions with both officers and soldiers, acknowledging their tireless efforts to uphold peace.

He stressed the importance of unwavering commitment to duty, increased operational preparedness, and a balanced focus on mental and physical health.

“This visit served as a significant morale booster for the security personnel actively involved in counter-insurgency operations in Rajouri. The DG encouraged the troops to pursue their objectives with renewed energy, strategic clarity, and steadfast dedication to national security. His visit is perceived as a crucial initiative in tightening counter-terrorism strategies and strengthening the security framework in the border area,” the statement indicated.

Security forces have amplified their vigilance throughout J&K and are conducting rigorous operations against terrorists, their over-ground associates, and sympathizers. Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a high-level security review meeting on Wednesday, attended by senior officials from central intelligence, CAPFs, the J&K chief secretary, DGP, ADG CID, and others.

Amit Shah instructed that measures be taken to ensure zero infiltration and a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorists in J&K. This meeting followed an incident where terrorists killed an ex-serviceman in the Kulgam district, injuring his wife and daughter.
