Prayagraj, Feb 22 (NationPress) The 10th installment of the International Dance and Music Festival is poised to begin on Saturday amidst the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, infusing a lively cultural essence into this grand spiritual congregation.
Hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Department of Culture in partnership with the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), this two-day festival will feature a total of 127 performers, comprising 107 international artists and 7 Indian talents, representing 30 nations.
Acclaimed choreographer Rani Khanam will spearhead the festival, artfully merging traditional and contemporary forms of dance and music. Performances are scheduled at the Ganga Pandal, situated in Sector-1 of the Sangam Area, Parade Ground, Prayagraj.
In an announcement on X, the ICCR stated, "Join us for the 10th Edition of the India-International Dance & Music Festival—ICCR's International Cultural Mahakumbh, in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh."
Saturday marks the 41st day of the Maha Kumbh, with just four days left before this grand spiritual fair concludes. The festival commenced on January 13 and will culminate on February 26, coinciding with Maha Shivratri.
With millions of devotees already participating in holy dips at the sacred Triveni Sangam, the Maha Kumbh continues to cement its reputation as the world's largest assembly of humanity.
Stemming from Hindu mythology, the Maha Kumbh Mela is one of the most important religious events worldwide. It draws ascetics, saints, sadhus, sadhvis, kalpvasis, and pilgrims from various backgrounds, reinforcing its significance in India's cultural and spiritual legacy.
In preparation for the upcoming Maha Shivratri bath, emergency medical services have been enhanced at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital, following directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The number of ICU beds has been increased from 52 to 147 to ensure ample healthcare provisions.
The Triveni Sangam, the intersection of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, is of profound spiritual importance for Hindus.
As the Maha Kumbh unfolds, the historic city of Prayagraj continues to showcase an extraordinary display of faith and reverence, with cultural events like the International Dance and Music Festival further enriching this age-old tradition.
