Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) In a conversation with IANS, anti-corruption advocate Anna Hazare discussed various topics, particularly the current condition of AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal. He stated that in politics, Kejriwal has become preoccupied with power and money. Hazare emphasized that as long as Kejriwal does not prioritize society and the nation, no matter how much wealth he accumulates, it will be of no significance.

IANS: What is your opinion on AAP founder Arvind Kejriwal, who is facing a challenging electoral contest?

Anna Hazare: In politics, Kejriwal has become consumed by power and money. Until he considers the well-being of society and the nation, his financial gains are meaningless. Initially, Kejriwal was aligned with me, but when thoughts of power and money entered his mind, he became attached to ideas like liquor shops. I chose not to accompany him. I attended the party's launch upon invitation but made it clear that I would not join him until everyone was in power.

IANS: Who do you think will win the Delhi Assembly elections?

Anna Hazare: The public will hold accountable those who engage in wrongful acts. We will learn the outcome of Kejriwal’s campaign once the election results are declared, which will clarify what is right and what is wrong.

IANS: How do you perceive Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia being imprisoned?

Anna Hazare: Those who engage in wrongdoing must face consequences. Our nation operates under the law; despite having diverse religions, they align under the principle of spirituality. Although various parties exist, the Constitution remains paramount, and the country functions according to it and the law.

IANS: Why did figures like Kumar Vishwas and Prashant Bhushan depart from Kejriwal's AAP?

Anna Hazare: Everyone has the right to express themselves in a democracy. However, if someone errs, society will correct them. If you stray from the right path, the public will ensure you are held accountable. I have distanced myself from those who think of liquor. I still converse with Prashant Bhushan and Kumar Vishwas, but I avoid those who are consumed by money and power.

IANS: Are you pleased with the functioning of Lokpal and Lok Ayukt, considering your previous protests?

Anna Hazare: I advocated for the establishment of a Lokpal at the national level. The bill was ultimately passed in Parliament, and a second Lokpal has since been appointed. Although the Lokpal law was enacted and appointments were made, the outcomes did not meet our expectations. While Lokpal and Lokayukt have been established, the rights that the public deserves are still lacking. Progress has been made regarding the Right to Information and Lokpal, but much remains to be accomplished.

IANS: What are your thoughts on the concept of 'one country, one election'?

Anna Hazare: I will express my opinion once I understand the intention behind 'one country, one election'.

IANS: What is your perspective on spirituality and the ongoing Maha Kumbh?

Anna Hazare: Life transformation cannot occur without spirituality. It is not merely about reciting mantras; it involves assisting the needy and contributing positively to society. Regarding the Kumbh, one perceives the world through their individual lens; it is essential to be aware of the perspective one holds.
