Gurugram, April 25 (NationPress) A one-and-a-half-year-old girl tragically lost her life after accidentally ingesting paint oil in Sidhrawali village within the Bilaspur police station jurisdiction of Gurugram, according to police reports.

The child drank from a bottle containing the hazardous substance that was left inside the residence.

As her condition worsened, she was swiftly taken to a private hospital in the Bilaspur region. After receiving initial treatment, she was referred to another private hospital, where she unfortunately passed away on Wednesday evening.

Dhamender Kumar, hailing from Samsapur village in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, is employed at a private firm in IMT Manesar and resides in Sidhrawali village with his family.

The family includes three children: two daughters and a son.

Kumar informed the police that he was painting a cooler at their home on Wednesday morning when his daughter, Diksha, approached him while playing.

The girl picked up the paint oil can that was placed on the floor and consumed some of its contents.

Her health began to decline rapidly within minutes, prompting Kumar to rush her to a nearby hospital in Bilaspur.

After receiving primary care there, she was transferred to a private hospital in Gurugram.

The police returned the infant's body to her family following an autopsy conducted on Thursday.

In an unrelated incident, the Gurugram police apprehended two individuals involved in vehicle theft in separate cases on Wednesday.

The suspects were identified as Vijay from Rohtak and Anish Bharti from Uttar Pradesh.

Vijay was captured near City Centre Mall on MG Road, while Anish was arrested close to Shankar Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway.

According to Sandeep Kumar, a spokesperson for the Gurugram police, "Vijay was already implicated in a fraud case, and two stolen motorcycles were recovered from their possession."
