New Delhi, Feb 22 (NationPress) Meditation serves as nourishment for the soul and is crucial for achieving global harmony, stated Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
This declaration was made at the Global Conference of Meditation Leaders (GCML) held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The conference represents a pivotal move towards embedding meditation within global leadership, governance, and societal welfare.
During his keynote speech, the Vice President underscored the transformative potential of meditation.
“Meditation is not merely an age-old tradition; it is nourishment for the spirit and a vital component for global peace and wellness,” he asserted. Dhankhar further noted that India’s role in meditation corresponds with international efforts, such as the United Nations’ recognition of World Meditation Day and the G20 vision of 'One Earth, One Family, One Future.'
The conference also passed a resolution encouraging global governments to incorporate meditation into education, healthcare, corporate leadership, and governance.
This resolution details practical strategies for weaving mindfulness into national development frameworks. Experts at the event affirmed that meditation is actionable and its outcomes are quantifiable.
Padma Bhushan Daaji (Kamlesh Patel ji), speaking at the event, highlighted that genuine spiritual growth necessitates the transformation of the subtle body—mind (manas), intellect (buddhi), and ego (ahankar). He expressed a profound affirmation: “My Lord, I aspire to feel your divine presence in my heart.”
Referring to meditation as “a scientific method that influences brain waves, emotional intelligence, and overall health,” experts showcased its demonstrable benefits on mental and physical wellness.
They urged leaders globally to adopt meditation as a foundational element of national wellness. The Vice President also advocated for a national initiative to embed meditation within India's cultural and governance frameworks.
He stressed the importance of “Pratyahara—the inward-turning practice—expounding that just as we set aside our phones, we must also train our minds to detach from distractions.”
