Amaravati/New Delhi, Feb 5 (NationPress) The Minister of Information Technology and Electronics for Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh, made a request on Wednesday to Union Heavy Industries and Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for the swift approval of the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel plant.

During his visit to the Union Minister in Delhi, Lokesh highlighted that the establishment of the plant in Anakapalle would generate significant employment opportunities for the youth of Andhra Pradesh.

He emphasized the need for the Centre's support to expedite the completion of the plant’s formalities.

As the son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh also sought the blessings of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gouda at Kumaraswamy’s residence and inquired about his health.

He expressed gratitude to Kumaraswamy for allocating nearly Rs 12,000 crore for the revitalization of the Visakha Steel Plant, acknowledging that this financial aid was a reflection of the government’s understanding of the people’s sentiments and the concerns of the workforce.

Lokesh also thanked Kumaraswamy for personally visiting the steel plant to obtain direct insights into the challenges faced by the workers and for initiating measures to improve productivity.

Earlier in the day, Lokesh met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to advocate for the establishment of a defence cluster in Andhra Pradesh.

He requested the Centre's collaboration in setting up various units in the state, especially in light of substantial investments in the defence sector.

Lokesh informed Rajnath Singh about the development initiatives undertaken since the TDP-led NDA took office in the state.

He conveyed how the state is being stabilized after the chaos caused by the previous administration's flawed policies, detailing the progress in projects like the capital city of Amaravati and Polavaram.

Lokesh extended his thanks to Rajnath Singh for the central support, noting that the Union government is assisting the state in overcoming the crisis left by the previous administration, which resulted in Rs 10 lakh crore in debt.

The minister asserted that the TDP-led NDA government is striving to align the state’s development with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat.

Union Ministers Ram Mohan Naidu and Srinivasa Varma, along with party MPs, were also present.
