New Delhi, Jan 10 (NationPress) In a bid to motivate cadets to create solutions for real-world challenges, the Director General (DG) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, launched the 'Idea and Innovation Competition' at the NCC Building in the heart of the national capital.
Prior to the competition, the NCC hosted a series of workshops and contests throughout India, coordinated by all 17 NCC State Directorates, aimed at inspiring cadets and fulfilling their aspirations.
This pioneering initiative is being introduced for the first time during the NCC Republic Day Camp, providing cadets with resources and guidance to think critically and devise solutions for real-world challenges, according to an official statement.
The initiative was met with outstanding success, as cadets produced an astonishing 256 innovative ideas and solutions. From these, 56 top innovations were selected and showcased during the Republic Day Camp 2025.
The showcased innovations underscored the cadets' capacity to think creatively and exhibited their teamwork, creativity, and dedication to nation-building.
The 'Idea and Innovation Competition' deeply resonated with the cadets, promoting entrepreneurship, problem-solving abilities, and a spirit of innovation.
These initiatives not only highlighted the NCC’s commitment to fostering future leaders but also empowered young minds to tackle urgent societal issues.
The initiative aimed to align NCC training with modern aspects and provide exposure and opportunities for cadets towards 'Yuva Setu', preparing them for 'Viksit Bharat'.
On Thursday, the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, visited the NCC Republic Day Parade Camp at Delhi Cantonment, emphasizing the vital role of cadets as future leaders of a thriving and robust India.
During his speech, he urged the cadets to persist in their pursuit of excellence and stressed that serving the nation transcends the Armed Forces.
He remarked that the foundation established by the NCC prepares them for leadership roles across various sectors.
General Dwivedi praised the NCC’s selfless contributions to service and national development, commending cadets for their enthusiastic involvement in numerous community programs, blood donation drives, environmental conservation efforts, and social awareness initiatives.
Reflecting on his own cadet experiences, the Army Chief highlighted the pivotal role today's cadets will play in achieving Viksit Bharat.
General Upendra Dwivedi concluded his address by wishing the cadets success in their future endeavors, reiterating the significance of their roles as future leaders of a prosperous and strong India.
