Patna, Feb 5 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a visit to Munger on Wednesday during the fourth phase of his Pragati Yatra, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for various projects valued at Rs 440 crore.

Additionally, he unveiled new development initiatives amounting to Rs 1500 crore, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public services within the region.

During this visit, prominent political figures, including Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, Minister Vijay Chaudhary, Munger MP Lalan Singh, along with MLAs and department secretaries, were in attendance.

This visit signifies Nitish Kumar’s ongoing effort to extend governance outreach through his Pragati Yatra, a state-wide initiative that focuses on evaluating existing projects and announcing new ones.

As a part of his Pragati Yatra, the Chief Minister toured Tarapur town in Munger, where he inaugurated several development projects and announced new infrastructure ventures.

During his Pragati Yatra in Munger, Nitish Kumar inaugurated a Rs 100 crore Ring Road for Tarapur, significantly enhancing connectivity, and laid the foundation for a Rs 12 crore beautification project of Rishikund aimed at promoting tourism and natural conservation.

He also opened a 100-bed model Sadar Hospital that offers advanced medical services to residents, in addition to a Rs 6.5 crore project for beautifying Raja Rani Pond, enhancing the area's historical and cultural significance.

The CM further inspected development efforts at Dhobai Panchayat, Rangaon, and Nauwagarhi Panchayats.

He engaged with Jeevika Groups and distributed financial support and cheques for women's self-help projects.

To ensure safety amidst Naxal threats, over 2000 policemen, five BSF companies, and CRPF, SSB, and STF teams were deployed.

DIG Rakesh Kumar and Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Imran Masood monitored security personally. A total of 700 policemen from headquarters and 200 from other districts were assigned for this purpose.

The district administration set up temporary checkposts at district borders and conducted combing operations in areas affected by Naxal activities.
