In a message on X, PM Modi stated, "I thank the people of Telangana for granting @BJP4Telangana such extraordinary support in the MLC elections. Congratulations to our newly elected candidates."

He expressed immense pride in the dedication shown by party workers, saying, "I am very proud of our Party Karyakartas who are diligently serving the community," PM Modi continued on X.

The BJP achieved a significant victory in a fiercely contested race, winning two out of three Members of the Legislative Council (MLC) seats, marking a setback for the ruling Congress party in the region.

The Graduates MLC constituency encompasses 42 Assembly segments with a voter base exceeding 3,55,159.

The MLC election took place on February 27 using a preferential voting system via ballot papers.

BJP candidate Chinnamail Anji Reddy claimed victory in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar graduates' segment, defeating his closest rival, V. Narender Reddy of Congress. This seat was previously held by senior Congress leader and former Minister T. Jeevan Reddy.

The party-supported candidate, Malka Komaraiah, secured the election in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar teachers' constituency, winning by more than 5,700 first-preference votes against Vanga Mahender Reddy of the PRTU(TS).

The PRTU(TS) won the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda seat, with candidate P. Sripal Reddy emerging victorious based on second-preference votes, garnering 13,969 votes.

The BJP's triumph represents a notable setback for Congress, indicating the sentiments of the state's educated voters. This election follows closely after Congress's win in the Assembly polls.

Immediately following the victory, Union Minister for Coal and Mines and state BJP president G. Kishan Reddy congratulated Anji Reddy for his success in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar graduates' seat, noting that Telangana's youth have placed their faith in the developmental politics of the BJP and the leadership of PM Modi. This reinforces the BJP's increasing popularity in Telangana, he remarked.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar celebrated the BJP’s win in Karimnagar, stating that the Congress government's countdown has begun. He asserted that the people of Telangana desire change and are turning to the BJP. Bandi Sanjay criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others for questioning EVMs, highlighting that the BJP won elections conducted with ballot papers.
