Prayagraj, Feb 5 (NationPress) Acharya Shri Kaushik Maharaj commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's participation in the sacred dip at the Mahakumbh, describing it as a moment of great pride for Sanatan Dharma.
In an interview with IANS on Wednesday, he remarked that PM Modi has consistently championed the cause of Sanatan Dharma and has tirelessly worked to disseminate its principles.
"It brings immense pride and happiness that Prime Minister Modi visited the sacred ground of Maha Kumbh and took a ceremonial dip. This isn't his first engagement in such cultural festivities; he has consistently played an active role in endorsing our cultural heritage," stated Acharya Kaushik.
He emphasized that PM Modi’s attendance at Maha Kumbh should be seen independently of political implications. His participation has conveyed a positive message to the public, he added.
He further expressed appreciation, noting that it is a momentous occasion when the leader of the world’s largest democracy visits the Ganga to partake in this sacred bathing ritual.
"We are profoundly grateful to Prime Minister Modi for this act, which bolsters faith in Sanatan Dharma throughout the country," he expressed.
Earlier, PM Modi performed a holy dip at the Sangam, the confluence of three rivers - the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati - in Prayagraj, where the Mahakumbh is taking place, on Wednesday morning.
Donning a vibrant saffron jacket and blue track pants, and holding rudraksha beads, PM Modi recited prayers while taking multiple full-body dips in the river.
PM Modi expressed that he felt "blessed" to have taken this holy dip, referring to it as a "moment of divine connection".
"Like the millions who participated, I was also enveloped in a spirit of devotion," he remarked.
"The snan, or the holy dip, at the sangam is a moment of divine connection. May Maa Ganga bless everyone with peace, wisdom, good health, and harmony," he conveyed in a post on X.
