Jaipur, Feb 22 (NationPress) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has been once again threatened with death from within prison confines. This recent threat reportedly emerged from Shyalawas Jail located in Dausa district, amplifying worries regarding security failures in the correctional system.

The threat allegedly occurred late Friday night when an inmate serving under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act reportedly contacted the Jaipur Police Control Room between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m., explicitly threatening the Chief Minister.

Authorities traced the call back to the Dausa district jail. The alarming incident triggered an urgent response from law enforcement, with teams from both Jaipur and Dausa police, led by ASP Guru Sharan Rao and Nangal Deputy SP Charul Gupta, conducting an immediate search operation within the jail.

During the search, several mobile phones were confiscated from inmates, raising alarms about how such devices can infiltrate high-security establishments. Investigations are now underway to ascertain potential security lapses and pinpoint individuals who may be responsible for smuggling these devices into the facility.

This marks the second occasion on which CM Sharma has received threats from within prison walls. Seven months prior, a similar threat originated from the same Dausa jail, resulting in another search operation that also uncovered mobile phones and led to the arrest of a suspect.

A previous threat was reported approximately 13 months ago from Jaipur Central Jail.

Authorities are taking these threats with utmost seriousness. Investigators are working to determine whether these occurrences are isolated instances or part of a broader conspiracy. The emphasis remains on identifying prison security weaknesses and enhancing monitoring to thwart future incidents.
