Patna, Feb 21 (NationPress): A day after former Union Minister RK Singh made shocking allegations regarding his defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, attributing it to a conspiracy orchestrated by party insiders, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) took the chance to criticize the BJP.
RJD spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan stated to IANS, “RK Singh's comments highlight intense internal conflicts within the Bihar BJP unit. The BJP is facing escalating disputes as they brace for losses in the forthcoming Bihar polls scheduled for this year.”
“They performed poorly in the Lok Sabha elections, and they will likely face similar challenges in the Bihar assembly elections 2025,” he added.
Former Bihar CM Tejashwi Yadav chose not to comment directly on the issue but asserted that various factions within the ruling alliance will lead to its collapse.
RK Singh’s alarming revelations about his Lok Sabha defeat have sparked considerable discussion among Bihar’s political figures, with leaders from JD(U) also weighing in on the matter.
Regarding the situation, JD(U) spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar referred to the issue as an internal concern for the BJP.
“R.K. Singh's claims emerged eight months post the Lok Sabha elections. They hold less significance as he has not named those who betrayed him,” Kumar conveyed to IANS.
As of now, no BJP leader has stepped forward to address this controversy.
RK Singh, the former power minister in the NDA government, asserted that his defeat was not due to public discontent but rather due to a conspiracy by his own party members, which he fell victim to.
While addressing constituents in his Arrah area on Thursday, RK Singh remarked, “Should the party nominate individuals involved in the conspiracy against me, we will oppose them and ensure their defeat.”
His statements have sent ripples through Bihar's political environment, leading many to highlight the significant divisions within the BJP ahead of the 2025 assembly elections.
Singh's accusations of internal sabotage, especially regarding the candidacy of Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh, indicate a ‘power struggle’ within the party.
RK Singh alleged that Pawan Singh was initially promised a ticket for Asansol but was later denied, only to be encouraged by BJP insiders to run for the Karakat seat. This, according to Singh, was a strategy to divide votes and undermine his chances in Arrah.
Furthermore, he accused fellow party members of providing financial support to Pawan Singh to diminish his standing in the constituency.
It remains uncertain how the BJP leadership will address this situation—whether they will seek to resolve his concerns or issue a warning regarding his public statements.
