Gurugram, March 16 (NationPress) The Gurugram Police have detained seven individuals for causing a disturbance and obstructing traffic in the Palam Vihar locality during the Holi festivities, as reported by officials.

The accused have been identified as Ravi from Gurugram; Arjun from Rewari; and Ankit, Sachin, Krishna, Ravi Kumar, Rahul, and Sitaram, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh.

According to Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram Police, “The suspects were apprehended for obstructing the road after consuming alcohol and engaging in brawls during the Holi celebrations.”

On Friday, a patrol unit from the Palam Vihar police station discovered a group of 8-10 individuals drinking alcohol and blocking the route from Rejangla Chowk to Sector-22 with flower pots. The police instructed them to clear the road and disperse, but they were later seen fighting again in the middle of the road after resuming their drinking.

“The suspects were taken into custody according to the law, and charges were filed against them under relevant sections at the Police Station Palam Vihar, Gurugram, for public drinking, obstructing the road, causing a disturbance, and engaging in physical fights,” Kumar stated.

The detainees were presented before a court, which subsequently placed them in judicial custody on Friday. The police are conducting further legal actions.
