Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) Tata Power announced a significant 10 percent rise in net profit, reaching Rs 1,188 crore for the October-December quarter of the ongoing financial year, compared to Rs 1,076 crore during the same timeframe last year.

The Tata Group company attributed this impressive performance to enhanced realisation across its core business segments, which include power generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy.

The consolidated revenue of the power giant in Q3 surged by 3 percent to Rs 15,793 crore, up from Rs 15,294 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, as stated by the company.

Tata Power's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) grew by 7 percent to Rs 3,481 crore, compared to Rs 3,250 crore in the same period last year.

The company reported a remarkable 59 percent increase in its renewable business for Q3FY25, amounting to Rs 214 crore, and a 41 percent growth to Rs 787 crore over the first nine months of the financial year. Its clean energy portfolio now totals approximately 6.7 GW installed capacity, with a pipeline of 10 GW, aiming for a total capacity exceeding 16.7 GW.

With nearly 2.5 GW of rooftop installations across the country, Tata Power has expanded its #GharGharSolar initiative to Tamil Nadu, building upon its successes in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and Chhattisgarh.

Having invested over Rs 3,000 crore in capital expenditures during the first nine months of FY25, the Transmission & Distribution segment reported a 7 percent increase in net profit, reaching Rs 370 crore for Q3FY25 and a 32 percent gain to Rs 1,384 crore over the first nine months of the fiscal year, as per the company statement.

Praveer Sinha, the CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power, stated that the company has consistently maintained a positive PAT (profit after tax) growth trajectory over the past 21 quarters, with all business segments contributing to this upward trend.

"We have established ourselves as a leader in clean energy, with a comprehensive presence across the entire value chain of manufacturing, EPC, and development of renewable projects, along with retail supply via group captives. As an integrated power provider, we deliver complete energy services encompassing our portfolio of generation, transmission, and distribution solutions to ensure affordable power for everyone," Sinha elaborated.
