Hyderabad, Feb 5 (NationPress) The Telangana government officially declared a cash reward of Rs. 1 crore for cricketer Gongadi Trisha, who played a pivotal role in India's triumph at the ICC Women’s Under-19 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur recently.
During a meeting with Trisha at his Jubilee Hills residence, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the reward.
He congratulated Trisha for her remarkable performance in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup and expressed hope that she would continue to excel and achieve more accolades for the nation in the future.
The Chief Minister also granted a cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh each to Dhruti Kesari, another member of the Under-19 World Cup team from Telangana, along with Nausheen Al Khadeer, the head coach, and Shalini, the trainer.
Minister P. Srinivasa Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Government Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, and Sports Authority of Telangana Chairman Shivsena Reddy were also present at the announcement.
Trisha, along with her teammate Kesari, head coach Nausheen, and trainer Shalini, returned to Hyderabad on Tuesday, receiving a warm welcome from the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

India successfully defended their U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup title with a stunning nine-wicket victory against South Africa in the final. This win marked India as the first team to clinch the championship without suffering a loss.
Trisha not only scored the tournament's first century but was also named the player of the match in the final, receiving the player of the tournament accolade as well. For the 19-year-old from Hyderabad, this was her second consecutive World Cup.
Throughout the tournament, Trisha accumulated 309 runs at an impressive average of 77.25. She also took seven wickets, with her best performance being 3/6. Notably, she scored the tournament's first century against Scotland during the Super Six match.
In the final, she claimed three wickets for 15 runs and scored an unbeaten 44, leading India to their second successive World Cup victory.
