New Delhi, Jan 16 (NationPress) LinkedIn announced on Thursday the launch of an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) feature designed to assist both job seekers in locating suitable employment and recruiters in sourcing the right talent.
This new feature will enable job seekers to assess how their skills and experiences align with available job openings.
“With just one click, job seekers can access comprehensive insights regarding the qualifications they possess and identify any that they may lack, allowing them to make informed decisions about applying,” LinkedIn stated, emphasizing that this tool will help them concentrate their search on opportunities where they are more likely to receive responses.
“The job match feature will be launched globally in English in the upcoming weeks, with additional languages to follow,” mentioned Rohan Rajiv, Product Lead for Jobseeker, Jobs Marketplace AI, Employer Brand - LinkedIn Talent Solutions.
This feature is being introduced as LinkedIn's new report highlights the increasing difficulties faced in job seeking and recruiting.
The report reveals that 82 percent of professionals in India intend to seek new employment this year, while over half (55 percent) indicated that job searching has become more challenging over the past year. It also pointed out that 49 percent of job seekers are applying to more positions than ever but are receiving fewer responses.
Conversely, over 69 percent of Indian HR professionals believe it has become harder to find qualified candidates for roles. Approximately 27 percent of HR professionals report spending between 3-5 hours daily reviewing applications, while 55 percent state that less than half of the applications they receive meet all necessary criteria.
“The job market is indeed competitive, but it serves as a reminder for Indians to adopt a more strategic approach in their job search. Acquiring the right skills is essential, as is maintaining an updated LinkedIn profile and focusing on positions that genuinely align with one's capabilities,” remarked Nirajita Banerjee, Career Expert and Senior Managing Editor for LinkedIn India.
“Being strategic and intentional can lead to new opportunities and significant career advancement, even amidst a challenging job market,” she added.
Furthermore, LinkedIn highlighted that this new feature will offer premium members a categorical rating indicating whether they are a high, medium, or low match for job listings. They will also be informed about their likelihood of being recognized as a Top Applicant by recruiters.
“Premium subscribers will have access to LinkedIn's AI-enhanced tools to refine their cover letters and resumes,” the company mentioned.
As professionals aim to navigate the job market in 2025, LinkedIn is poised to assist job seekers in standing out, securing the right positions, and gaining insights into their job potential.
