This groundbreaking initiative represents a significant milestone for Indian kabaddi, demonstrating the sport's expanding global fanbase and the league's aspirations to engage audiences across borders. The display at Times Square signifies a celebratory moment for India's native sport on one of the largest digital platforms globally.

Notable international athletes are also enjoying their time in the ongoing Global Indian-Pravasi Kabaddi League, underscoring the increasing allure of kabaddi on a global scale.

"My experience has been incredibly enlightening; I believed I understood the rules of kabaddi well. However, since arriving here, I've discovered a more professional approach to the game. I am truly humbled by the knowledge I've gained," expressed Ireen Atieno Otieno from Kenya, who plays for the Haryanvi Eagles in GI-PKL.

"I'm having a fantastic time. My compatriots in Hungary believe I'm fortunate to play in GI-PKL, and they have been incredibly supportive throughout the league," shared Zita Korber from Hungary.

Commenting on the reception of GI-PKL, Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association (HIPSA) president Kanthi D. Suresh stated, "Witnessing kabaddi showcased at Times Square is a proud achievement for all of us. It reinforces our belief that kabaddi is poised for the global arena. We are delighted to see the world welcoming our sport with such enthusiasm."

Earlier this month, in anticipation of the GI-PKL's commencement, over 30 prominent billboards were displayed across major cities such as Delhi NCR, Bareilly, Lucknow, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, creating a visual spectacle for the Global Indian-Pravasi Kabaddi League.

As the league approaches its climax, the Punjabi Tigers, Marathi Vultures, Tamil Lions, and Bhojpuri Leopards have advanced to the men's semifinals at Gurugram University on Saturday.

The first semifinal is set to occur between the Marathi Vultures and Punjabi Tigers on Monday, while the second semifinal will feature the Tamil Lions facing the Bhojpuri Leopards before the final showdown, scheduled for April 30.

Meanwhile, the women's competition returns on Sunday, with the Punjabi Tigress going up against the Marathi Falcons, followed by the Telugu Cheetahs competing against the Haryanvi Eagles. The day's action will conclude with the Bhojpuri Leopardess taking on the Tamil Lioness, marking the end of the women's league stage.
