New Delhi, Jan 21 (NationPress) The first-ever Kho Kho World Cup in New Delhi concluded with both the men's and women's Indian teams claiming the championship. The remarkable event not only enchanted the nation but also captivated global audiences, leaving lasting impressions on many.

The tournament commenced with a lively cultural festival that welcomed 23 nations from six continents.

An unforgettable opening ceremony showcased the flamboyant essence of Indian hospitality, featuring mesmerizing musical and dance performances, which set the stage for thrilling matches that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

"This was our first visit to India and it was wonderful. The hospitality we received was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, everything was taken care of. Our accommodation and meals were tailored to our preferences, so we faced no issues. Experiencing Indian culture for the first time was truly delightful, especially the cultural celebrations. It was incredible," said Amir Ghiasi from Iran when reflecting on his time in India.

Amanadeep Kaur, a member of the New Zealand women's team, expressed, "We had an amazing time. We were surprised by the level of competition, and now we are eager to prepare for the next challenge."

The tournament was organized by the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) and the International Kho Kho Federation (IKKF), led by president Sudhanshu Mittal, KKFI General Secretary MS Tyagi, and IKKF General Secretary Rohit Haldania. They took it upon themselves to ensure all the visiting nations received accommodations that catered to their specific needs. This monumental task was accomplished successfully, as international players lauded the facilities provided.

"Everyone loved the ambiance in India, including players from various teams. The hospitality extended to foreign nations was simply exceptional. It’s wonderful to see the entire world coming together. If any concerns arise, support is available immediately. Medical professionals and nutritionists are on hand, and any dietary requirements of players are promptly addressed. India is undoubtedly the best country to host this tournament," Amandeep added.

International Kho Kho athletes also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in India's cultural richness, visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra and sampling the country's famous street food.

"Everything, from the hospitality to the cuisine, was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the dance performances, costumes, and music. It’s overwhelming because there’s so much to see and experience all at once. The World Cup experience has been remarkable," remarked Silvana Patricia, head coach of the Peru men's team.

"The differences with our culture are striking. I’m captivated by every detail in each location. I feel incredibly fortunate to be here. The kindness of the people and the hospitality are unparalleled. I even want to learn some dance moves to take back home with me," concluded Laura Doering, head coach of the Brazil men’s team.
