Liverpool, April 28 (NationPress) A grand victory parade for Liverpool FC is scheduled in the city on Monday, May 26, following the Reds' remarkable achievement of securing their 20th league title.

The esteemed Leader of Liverpool City Council, Councillor Liam Robinson, has extended a formal invitation to the club for this celebratory parade, which LFC has graciously accepted.

This Bank Holiday Monday event will commence the day after the final match of the 2024-25 season against Crystal Palace, kicking off in the afternoon.

The parade will follow a 15km route, identical to the paths taken in the 2019 and 2022 parades. It will initiate at Allerton Maze in the southern part of the city and proceed north on Queens Drive, passing the Fiveways roundabout and onward to the Rocket flyover.

From there, it will traverse along Queens Drive, Mill Bank, West Derby Road, Islington, Leeds Street, and The Strand, concluding at Blundell Street. The duration of the parade is expected to span between three and five hours.

Liverpool has been crowned champions for the second time in the Premier League and has equally matched the record with their 20th title in the top flight, thanks to Arne Slot leading the team to triumph in his inaugural season.

Sunday’s impressive 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur ensured Liverpool outpaced their closest competitors, Arsenal, with four matches left to play.

Previously, Liverpool’s only other Premier League title came during the 2019/20 season under Jurgen Klopp amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, where fans were prohibited from attending games.

Thus, celebrating this title in front of their supporters is exceptionally significant, as lifting the Premier League Trophy later this season will mark the first occasion fans can witness it live.

“We are thrilled to officially invite Liverpool Football Club to parade through the city on May 26. This victory parade is beyond just football; it is a tribute to our city’s pride, passion, and community spirit.

“A monumental amount of behind-the-scenes work is required to organize an event of this magnitude, with extensive planning already underway as the Team Liverpool initiative – which proved successful during Eurovision – comes into play once more.

“It promises to be an unforgettable Bank Holiday weekend as we honor the team with the celebration they rightfully deserve,” Councillor Robinson stated.
