New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) In a collaborative effort by CIA Moga and CIA Malout, three individuals linked to the murder of Mangat Rai Manga, the district president of Shiv Sena in Moga, have been apprehended. The suspects, named Arun alias Deepu, Arun alias Singha, and Rajveer alias Laddo, were located at their hideouts by the police.
Upon confrontation, the suspects opened fire on law enforcement, leading to a defensive response from the police.
The investigation into the murder of Mangat Rai (Shiv Sena Moga) is proceeding under FIR No. 64/2025, registered at PS City South, Moga, citing Sections 103(1), 191(3), 190 BNS, and sections of the Arms Act including 25/27.
The police encircled the suspects at their respective locations. The first suspect, Arun alias Deepu, son of Gurpreet Singh, resided in Angadpura Mohalla, Moga. The second suspect, Arun alias Singha, son of Babbu Singh, also hailed from Angadpura Mohalla, Moga. The third suspect, Rajveer alias Lado, son of Ashok Kumar, was from Vedant Nagar, Moga.
When surrounded, the suspects retaliated by firing at the police using two different types of pistols—two shots were discharged from a 0.32 pistol, and three shots from a 0.30 pistol. The police, acting in self-defense, returned fire with three shots from a 9mm pistol and one shot from a 0.32 pistol.
During the exchange, Arun alias Deepu sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg, Arun alias Singha was hit in his right leg, and Rajveer alias Lado was injured while attempting to escape. All three were promptly transported to Malout Civil Hospital for medical attention.
Earlier on Friday, three motorcycle-riding assailants fatally shot Mangat Rai Manga, the district president of Shiv Sena, in Punjab's Moga district due to alleged personal rivalry, according to police reports.
At the time of the attack, Manga was on his scooter to buy milk and managed to evade several bullets before being ultimately killed.
Additionally, two other individuals, including an 11-year-old boy, were injured during the incident. In response to the attack, Shiv Sena leaders declared a shutdown in Moga.
