Bengaluru, Feb 1 (NationPress) The Karnataka chapter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took aim at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday for his attack on the Union Budget 2025, introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. They labelled the senior Congress leader's remarks as a “solely politically driven strategy”.
In a statement directed at CM Siddaramaiah, Karnataka BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra remarked: “Your government is on a path towards political chaos. If your aim is to retain power, the only option left is to impose ‘tax on tax’ and ‘increased prices on rising costs’, thus overburdening the populace.”
“This is the stark reality, while the Central government has unveiled a forward-thinking Budget designed to foster a developed India by lowering the costs of essential items, such as medications, electronics, and leather goods. Criticizing such a constructive Budget is purely politically motivated, and the citizens of the state can see through this deception. Your ongoing fabrications to mislead the people of Karnataka are nearing their end. The truth is becoming clear to the residents of the state.”
The Karnataka BJP president emphasized that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Budget for the eighth consecutive year, which includes loan opportunities for the Scheduled Caste community to initiate their enterprises.
“For the benefit of the middle class, a tax exemption has been introduced for incomes up to Rs 12 lakh. Additionally, the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) limit has been raised from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, aiding over 7 crore farmers with easier loan access. Isn’t this a benefit for our farming community?” Vijayendra questioned.
“To boost agricultural output, the government has decided to initiate the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Yojana, which will assist 1.7 crore farmers. Isn't this a blessing for our food producers?” he inquired.
He further stated: “A dedicated fund has been created to support new startups, with an additional allocation of Rs 10,000 crore on top of the existing Rs 10,000 crore provided by the Central government. A new initiative has been launched to empower 5 lakh women from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to establish their own businesses. Isn’t this a move towards making our SC/ST women self-sufficient?”
In his critique of Siddaramaiah, the BJP leader noted: “Karnataka has consistently been one of the top states in terms of resource wealth. However, your administration is dragging this prosperous Karnataka into a downturn, marking a grim chapter in its history. It is shameful to resort to petty criticisms of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government during such times.”
The BJP leader continued: “Rather than attacking the pro-people initiatives of the Central government, the Karnataka government should focus on building a thriving Karnataka in collaboration with the Modi-led administration, which is implementing extensive development programs.”
