In the wake of this brutal attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful message to the perpetrators of the violence, vowing that India would pursue them "to the ends of the Earth" and that terrorism would face consequences.

"India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist, their handlers, and their supporters. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth. The spirit of India will never be subdued by terrorism," he declared while addressing a large crowd in Bihar's Madhubani.

The violent assault occurred on Tuesday in the Baisaran Valley close to Pahalgam, where heavily armed terrorists emerged from the dense nearby forests and opened fire indiscriminately at innocent tourists. This attack has been labeled one of the most horrific in recent regional history.

Intelligence reports indicate that the Pakistan-based terrorist group The Resistance Front (TRF), which is an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
