Los Angeles, Feb 21 (NationPress) Renowned Hollywood actor Harrison Ford shared his thoughts on his co-star from “1923,” Helen Mirren, highlighting that she is a woman with the ability to connect with men.
The legendary actors reunited on screen in the second season of 1923 as the couple Jacob and Cara Dutton, discussing their dynamic off the set, according to reports from people.com.
Mirren, aged 79, is “what we used to refer to as a broad,” Ford, who is 82, remarked.
He elaborated: “There’s no offense in calling a Dame a broad. It signifies that she’s a woman who can truly connect with men—not merely to be a lady in their presence, but to genuinely engage with them. She’s a real cool lady.”
Mirren echoed his sentiments, stating: “We would sit around and casually chat off the set.”
“Harrison isn’t the type to retreat to his trailer. I don’t recall him ever going to his trailer. We would spend time together on set and enjoy our work,” she added.
“We had a wonderful time,” Ford concurred.
“A great time socializing together in addition to working.”
During the lengthy interval between the premiere of season 1 in December 2022 and the upcoming season 2 on February 23, Ford and Mirren admit they didn’t remain in touch regularly; however, their on-screen chemistry remained intact, as reported by people.com.
“Harrison and I share a unique bond,” Mirren reflected on their initial collaboration, 1986’s The Mosquito Coast, and their lasting connection.
“It’s akin to reconnecting with your best college friend after 30 years; once you’re back together, it feels just the same, but even better, actually. Even better.”
Ford agrees with her perspective.
“The truth is we first met 40 or 50 years ago during Mosquito Coast. Now, 40 years later, I’ve learned that she’s already signed on for 1923. I’ve been informed that I’m also on board. For me, the main draw was the opportunity to collaborate with her again.”
“When there’s a connection, you can sense it. It’s just the perfect casting,” he added.
