Bhopal, Feb 21 (NationPress) Geeta Lodhi from Jabalpur is distinguished among 90,000 students as the inaugural recipient of a laptop through Madhya Pradesh's state initiative for exceptional students.
This program, supported by a substantial fund of Rs 224 crore, incentivizes students achieving 75 percent or better in their higher studies with a laptop. Each eligible student is awarded Rs 25,000 directly deposited into their bank account for the purchase of the device.
"I am overjoyed to receive this laptop," declared Geeta, sharing the academic hurdles she encountered during her studies in Bhopal on Friday.
She credited her brother, Rahul Lodhi, a notable student at the esteemed Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, as her motivating force.
Rahul, currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering, still lacks a laptop. Geeta notably scored 98.5 percent in her 12th-grade examinations.
The Chief Minister invited Rahul to the stage at the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and engaged with him during the event on Friday.
With a single click, the Chief Minister facilitated the fund transfer under the ‘Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan’ scheme, allocating Rs 25,000 to bright students for laptop acquisitions.
He urged all students to utilize the funds solely for laptop purchases. “I trust students will acquire laptops and send a copy of the receipt to their school,” he encouraged the audience.
During a gathering in Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conversed with the laptop recipients. Drawing inspiration from the mythological narrative of Lord Rama and his brother Lord Laxman, Dr. Yadav emphasized that just as they overcame youthful challenges, today’s youth can also surmount difficulties.
He referred to the laptop and previously distributed scooters as the government's humble offerings to the youth's path toward success, contributing to the nation's future. Under the initiative, students achieving 75 percent in the MP Board class 12 exams for the current academic year qualify for the funds.
Just two weeks prior, Chief Minister Yadav had distributed scooters to 7,800 outstanding students.
