Wayanad, Feb 6 (NationPress) Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to embark on a comprehensive visit to her constituency Wayanad, starting Saturday, during which she will engage with the community and tackle their concerns.

A close associate of Priyanka informed IANS that she is not a "tourist MP" and will commence her visit from Saturday.

Her itinerary is planned to conclude on February 10.

"She will cover all seven Assembly constituencies across Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Malappuram districts. Although there won’t be any public meetings, she will connect with residents to address their matters," stated the aide who preferred to remain anonymous.

"In addition to meeting the public, Priyanka will also engage with grassroots party leaders to discuss the party's expectations of them," the aide added.

Interestingly, Priyanka operates from two offices within her constituency, one located in Kalpetta in Wayanad district, which encompasses three Assembly constituencies, while the other is in Mukkom, covering the remaining four Assembly constituencies in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts.

These offices were previously used by Congress leader and her brother Rahul Gandhi, and the same staff continues to serve.

Moreover, Priyanka has begun learning Malayalam to enhance her connection with the locals.

She has instructed all local Congress leaders in Wayanad to provide updates on the constituency's progress weekly.

Notably, after the electoral process in Kerala concluded, the Congress party announced Rahul's candidacy from Rae Bareli as well.

Following Rahul's decision to leave Wayanad in favor of Rae Bareli, he faced backlash from the opposition for allegedly betraying the public's trust.

Priyanka made her electoral debut in Wayanad and secured victory with a margin exceeding four lakh votes. Although she spent some time in the constituency afterward, it was primarily for familiarization.
