Mahakumbh Nagar, Feb 2 (NationPress) As the Basant Panchami bathing festival approaches this Monday, a significant surge of devotees and tourists is assembling at the revered banks of Triveni in Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh.
In light of this substantial gathering, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has established a dedicated fleet of shuttles and reserved buses to guarantee the safe and organized return of the pilgrims.
By the evening of February 2, around 35 crore individuals had taken a sacred dip in Triveni.
The Uttar Pradesh government, reaffirming its dedication to ensuring a smooth return for the devotees, has deployed UPSRTC buses for service.
The UPSRTC has set aside 2,500 buses for the Basant Panchami Snan, which will operate from four temporary bus stations, with buses departing every 15 minutes.
The largest number, 1,500 buses, will be stationed at Jhunsi, followed by 600 at Bela Kachhar for passengers heading to Lucknow, 300 at Nehru Park for travelers to Kanpur, and 100 at another station for those going to Mirzapur and Banda.
Moreover, 550 shuttle buses will run every two minutes to support the movement of pilgrims between temporary bus stations and essential locations around the Mahakumbh. Special arrangements have been made to prevent overcrowding, ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees.
In parallel, the Yogi Adityanath government has placed all medical teams in the Prayagraj division on high alert for the upcoming 'mega snan' on Monday.
Over 1,200 medical staff members are on standby in Mahakumbh Nagar to offer immediate assistance in emergencies.
The entire medical team has been instructed to remain on-site at the fair until February 6, with contingency plans established for any urgent situations.
