New Delhi, Feb 6 (NationPress) After the conclusion of voting for the Delhi Assembly elections late Wednesday, Exit Poll results from various independent organizations have suggested that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is significantly leading. In contrast, some analysts predict that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is poised to form the government in the region.
Political reactions regarding the Exit Polls have begun to emerge from leaders of the BJP, AAP, and Congress.
In a statement to IANS, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed, "We (BJP) respect the Exit Polls. We believe that the citizens of Delhi have endorsed the BJP. The outcome will be evident on February 8. BJP members have worked diligently and cohesively. The public is disillusioned with corruption and has voted against the AAP administration this time."
Commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance model, Sachdeva noted that the people of Delhi appreciate Modi's effective governance.
"I am entirely confident that the BJP will establish the government in Delhi. The citizens have voted against corruption and misconduct. The Aam Aadmi Party attempted to manipulate the elections through money, liquor, and fraudulent voting, yet the people of Delhi have rejected these strategies," stated the Delhi BJP President.
Conversely, AAP leader Somnath Bharti, responding to the Exit Poll results, remarked, "We are already aware of how dependable Exit Polls can be."
He asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party will secure a better number of seats compared to the 2020 Assembly elections.
Kejriwal will once again lead the government in Delhi, and AAP will deliver on the commitments made to the citizens, according to the AAP leader.
He added, "Even during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, projections indicated the BJP would attain 400 seats. However, the reality saw the BJP's count drop to 240 seats. It will not be surprising if we exceed our previous record. The Aam Aadmi Party is set to form the government in Delhi for the fourth time."
The outcomes of the Delhi Assembly elections will be revealed on February 8.
The majority requirement to establish the government in Delhi stands at 36. The fate of a total of 699 candidates in the Delhi Assembly elections is uncertain, with 603 male and 96 female candidates.
In the 2020 Assembly elections, a total of 672 candidates participated.
This year, the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have contested the elections independently. Both parties nominated candidates for all 70 seats.
Simultaneously, the BJP allocated one seat each to JD-U and LJP (Ram Vilas). The elections in Delhi are characterized by a triangular competition among the BJP, AAP, and Congress.
