New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) Prominent automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Ltd announced a remarkable 16 per cent rise in net profit, totaling Rs 3,727 crore for the October-December quarter of the ongoing financial year, up from Rs 3,206.8 crore in the same period last year.

The company's revenue from operations surged by 15.7 per cent year-on-year, reaching Rs 38,764.3 crore, an increase from Rs 33,512.8 crore during the comparable quarter of the previous year.

Nevertheless, the automaker's total expenses in the third quarter also escalated by 16 per cent year-on-year, amounting to Rs 35,163 crore.

On a standalone basis, the firm's net profit increased by 13 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,525 crore, compared to Rs 3,130 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) experienced a 14.4 per cent growth year-on-year, reaching Rs 4,470.3 crore from Rs 3,907.9 crore in the same quarter last year. However, the EBITDA margin slightly dipped to 11.6 per cent from 11.7 per cent year over year.

Maruti Suzuki reported the highest-ever net sales of Rs 36,802 crore during the quarter, up from Rs 31,860 crore in the same period last year.

In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki noted a nearly 13 per cent increase in sales year over year, with 5,66,213 vehicles sold during the quarter, compared to 5,01,207 units in the same quarter last year.

In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki sold 4,66,993 vehicles in the third quarter, compared to 4,29,422 units in the same period last year. Additionally, the company exported 99,220 units during the quarter, marking the highest-ever exports for any quarter, an increase from 71,785 units in the same quarter last year.
