New Delhi, Jan 28 (NationPress) The global electronics powerhouse Samsung announced on Tuesday plans to significantly enhance its investment in research and development initiatives within India. The growing enthusiasm of local consumers for cutting-edge technologies and innovations positions India as a crucial focus for the company.
TM Roh, President and Head of the Mobile Experience division at Samsung, emphasized the growing significance of the research centers in Noida and Bengaluru, stating that their contributions will be continuously improved. “We will persist in enhancing their impact,” he added.
“India is vital for Samsung, both in terms of Galaxy AI development and sales, and it will always be our primary focus,” Roh remarked following the introduction of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S25 series.
He further highlighted that the young Indian demographic is tech-savvy and more receptive to innovative solutions.
“We possess the largest research presence in one nation, with extensive human and other resources in Noida and Bengaluru. Within these research facilities, we are innovating, refining, and differentiating features for Galaxy AI and other Galaxy products,” he explained.
These research centers also focus on local language feature development, including Hindi.
In the Galaxy S25 series, the Google Gemini Live will be available from launch in Korean, English, and Hindi.
“We are initiating with these three languages for Galaxy S25 Gemini Live, with plans to expand to additional languages. This underscores the significance of the Indian market for us and the contributions from our Indian resource centers,” Roh noted.
Regarding the flagship S25 series, Roh mentioned that the device heralds the arrival of multiple AI agents capable of understanding consumer needs and offering personalized experiences.
“Through multi-modality, Samsung will introduce a new interaction paradigm between users and devices, facilitating the most natural mobile experience, akin to conversing with a friend. This achievement is made possible by Samsung’s open collaboration philosophy, sustained through long-term partnerships with leading industry innovators,” Roh stated.
He reaffirmed Samsung’s dedication to privacy by emphasizing that AI-related data and information stored in the cloud will not be utilized for training or advertising purposes.
The company has recently announced that pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 are now available in India. The Galaxy S25 series is priced starting at Rs 80,999, reaching up to Rs 1.65 lakh for the premium Ultra model.
