Mumbai, Jan 28 (NationPress) TVS Motor Company announced a 1.48% decrease in its revenue from operations for the third quarter (Q3) of FY25, totaling Rs 11,134.63 crore, compared to Rs 11,301.68 crore in the preceding quarter (Q2 FY25).

The company also revealed a nearly 6.66% decline in net profit for Q3, which amounted to Rs 618.48 crore, down from Rs 662.62 crore in Q2 FY25.

Despite this, TVS Motor reported a year-on-year increase of 4.2% in net profit, attributed to higher sales volumes and enhanced operational efficiency.

When examining year-on-year performance, the automaker's revenue from operations exhibited a 10% growth, rising from Rs 9,097 crore in Q3 FY24.

Operating EBITDA saw a year-on-year increase of 17%, reaching Rs 1,081 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 924 crore during the same period last year.

The EBITDA margin improved to 11.9%, the highest recorded, up from 11.2% in Q3 FY24.

Profit before tax (PBT) increased by 8% year-on-year to Rs 837 crore, despite including a fair valuation loss of Rs 41 crore for the quarter, a shift from a gain of Rs 65 crore in the same quarter last year.

Sales of two-wheelers and three-wheelers combined grew by 10% year-on-year, totaling 12.12 lakh units during this quarter, driven by a 22% surge in scooter sales and a 6% rise in motorcycle sales.

However, three-wheeler sales dipped to 0.29 lakh units, a drop from 0.38 lakh units in the same quarter last year.

Sales of electric scooters surged by 57%, reaching 0.76 lakh units, as per the company’s filing.

For the nine months ending December 2024, TVS Motor’s two-wheeler sales, including exports, rose by 14% year-on-year to 34.29 lakh units.

In contrast, three-wheeler sales fell to 0.98 lakh units from 1.16 lakh units in the previous year.

Nonetheless, two-wheeler exports surged by 19% to 7.78 lakh units during this nine-month period.

Sales of electric vehicles during this time increased by 40% to 2.03 lakh units.

Following the Q3 results, TVS Motor’s share price rose by over 4.5% to Rs 2,331 on the NSE.
