Bhopal, Feb 6 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated on Thursday that he is confident the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will establish its government in Delhi. He emphasized that the residents of the national capital have cast their votes in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s developmental agenda.
Yadav, who spearheaded the BJP’s campaign across five assembly constituencies in Delhi prior to the elections held on Wednesday, referenced exit polls that forecast a favorable outcome for the party.
“According to exit polls, the residents of Delhi have backed the BJP and PM Modi’s vision for progress,” Yadav remarked in his statement on Thursday.
He also criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, accusing both administrations of being plagued by corruption and the misuse of authority.
“The populace turned away from Congress years ago, and now they are disillusioned with AAP’s corruption. This time, they have chosen to empower the BJP in the national capital,” Yadav noted.
The single-phase election for Delhi’s 70 assembly seats took place on Wednesday, achieving a voter turnout of 60.42 percent, according to the Election Commission.
With voting now complete, the outcomes for three prominent political parties and 699 candidates are now locked in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The results will be revealed on February 8.
Exit polls predominantly forecast a victory for the BJP, indicating a possible end to Arvind Kejriwal’s term as Delhi’s Chief Minister.
During the 2015 assembly election, the AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal achieved a landslide victory, winning 67 out of 70 seats, while the BJP managed just three. Congress did not secure any seats.
The AAP maintained its supremacy in 2020, winning 62 seats, while the BJP increased its tally to eight. Even after ruling Delhi from 1998 to 2013, Congress remained without representation in both the 2015 and 2020 elections.
In the 2025 exit polls, most analysts anticipate a significant downturn for Congress.
