New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) Individuals represent the most significant asset for any organization, and it is crucial to prioritize their well-being, stated Zydus Chairman Pankaj Patel on Friday.

"Individuals are central to every endeavor. The fundamental principle of achieving success in any enterprise is to nurture your workforce; other aspects will follow suit," he remarked during the official inauguration of the SOUL (School of Ultimate Leadership) -- a privately funded leadership institution in Gujarat, established by a consortium of like-minded individuals, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

SOUL imparts vital insights, skills, and expertise essential for navigating the intricate challenges of leadership in the contemporary landscape. It redefines leadership by shifting away from the conventional heroic model, favoring a collaborative and values-oriented approach inspired by India's civilizational wisdom and global best practices.

Patel urged businesses to foster a supportive environment for their personnel.

"The culture of the team is vital for sustainability. The values instilled in human resources are crucial for business success," he emphasized, encouraging corporate leaders to make collective decisions, communicate effectively, and implement them proficiently.

"Leadership has transformed significantly over the past two decades. Leaders are not merely born; they evolve and are cultivated," Patel added.

He noted that current leaders have taken on roles as planners and mentors, assembling teams to facilitate productivity.

"They should possess vision and humility, viewing the world as one expansive family," Patel remarked.

Highlighting the importance of positive thinking, he stated, "Everything is achievable. Do not let those who discourage you sway your thoughts."

He also emphasized the necessity of being original rather than a mere 'copy.'

"You cannot surpass the 'copy'; therefore, never imitate anyone in business and strive for originality," Patel advised.

The event today sparked enthusiasm, challenged traditional beliefs, and motivated the upcoming generation of leaders to think innovatively and act purposefully for a more luminous and inclusive future.

It also assembled leaders from diverse fields such as politics, sports, arts, media, public policy, business, and the social sector to share their leadership journeys. They engaged in enlightening discussions and shared transformative experiences to inspire a new wave of change-makers and leaders.

SOUL aims to instruct and empower youth for careers in pivotal public sectors like health, education, rural development, and sanitation, a vision spearheaded by PM Modi. The initiative seeks to cultivate authentic leaders committed to the public good.

It aspires to broaden the political leadership landscape in India through formal training, welcoming those who rise based on merit, dedication, and passion for public service, rather than merely political heritage.

The construction of the SOUL campus is projected to take place over the next two years with an estimated investment of Rs 150 crore.

This expansive 22-acre campus will be situated on the outskirts of GIFT City in Gandhinagar.
