Chennai, Feb 21 (NationPress) Director Ashwath Marimuthu, whose film ‘Dragon’ featuring actors Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parameswaran, and Kayadu Lohar in lead roles has made a remarkable debut, has now revealed that he and actor Pradeep Ranganathan will collaborate once more with the same production company AGS Productions for a new film.

Following a media screening of the film, director Ashwath Marimuthu stated, in the presence of the actor and film producers, “The Pradeep-Ashwath combination will definitely work with AGS Productions again.”

Producer Archana Kalpathi, who was present, inquired, “In 2027?” to which Ashwath responded, “After I finish #STR51, which I am also doing for AGS Productions, Pradeep and I will collaborate again based on his availability. It is a certainty that we will work with AGS. The industry operates on trust. This production house didn’t just sign me for my next film after viewing Dragon. They committed to the next project while Dragon was still in production, demonstrating their confidence in me. That trust was established because I adhered to our budget, timelines, and collaborative process. I am grateful for their support.”

‘Dragon’, which debuted to favorable reviews today, had already proven to be a guaranteed success before its release as it had recouped its production costs solely through non-theatrical ventures.

Indeed, director Ashwath Marimuthu mentioned in an exclusive interview with IANS, “We produced this film on a budget of Rs 37 crores. We have already recovered that amount through satellite, OTT rights, and other sales. All our financial bases are covered.”

Producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment also confirmed this information in another interview. She stated, “Dragon is a guaranteed profit for us as we have sold the OTT and satellite rights. All business is settled. Whatever we achieve from theatrical releases will be profit. We are unsure of the extent of profit, whether it will be double, triple, or perhaps a 30% to 40% increase, but we are content with our returns.”

The film is produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh, featuring music by Leon James, while Niketh Bommi handled the cinematography.

Editing was managed by Pradeep E Ragav, and stunts were choreographed by Vicky and Dilip Subbarayan. The story was co-created by Ashwath Marimuthu and Pradeep Ranganathan, with Ashwath also penning the dialogues and screenplay.

The film is co-directed by Ramesh Narayanan, and the costumes were designed by Dinesh Manoharan and Praveen Raja.
