Mumbai, Jan 31 (NationPress) Actress Mamta Kulkarni, who was a prominent figure in the 90s, has faced expulsion from the Kinnar Akhada. The title of Mahamandaleshwar, previously bestowed upon her, has been rescinded. The underlying reasons for this revocation are linked to her past connections with the film industry and her purported criminal history.
A document circulated online, signed by the head of the Akhada, Rishi Ajay Das, states, “As the founder of Kinnar Akhara, I hereby notify you that I relieve Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, who was appointed by me during the 2015-16 Ujjain Kumbh, from his position.”
He elaborated in the letter, “He will be formally notified soon, as he has consistently deviated from his role, which was intended for the promotion of religious practices and the upliftment of the Kinnar community. He entered into a written agreement with Juna Akhara during the 2019 Prayagraj Kumbh without my approval, which is not only unethical but also constitutes deception.”
The contract established between Juna Akhara and Kinnar Akhara, lacking the founder's consent and signature, is deemed illegal. This agreement recognizes Kinnar Akhara as the 14th Akhara, suggesting that there are, in fact, 14 valid Akharas in Sanatan Dharma, contrary to the previously accepted 13.
Rishi Ajay Das accused Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi of not only engaging in an unconstitutional act but also of “abandoning the principles of Sanatan Dharma and the interests of the nation.”
He described Mamta’s alleged criminal history as an act of treason, stating that she is “linked to glamour without adhering to any religious or Akhada traditions.”
He continued, “The integrity of Kinnar Akhara has been compromised due to the illegal agreements made in its name with Juna Akhara. These individuals are disregarding the values of both Juna Akhara and Kinnar Akhada.”
“In this manner, they are deceiving the followers of Sanatan Dharma and society at large. Thus, I felt it necessary to disclose this information in the public interest and for the sake of religion through a press conference today,” he concluded.
