Mumbai, Feb 5 (NationPress) Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya fondly recalled the legendary song ‘Didi Tera Devar Deewana’ from the 1994 smash hit “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” and shared intriguing stories about the unforgettable “nighty” scene in the number.
During his guest spot on the show “Indian Idol”, Sooraj took a nostalgic journey and mentioned: "This was a lengthy and intricate song that needed 16 days of rehearsals and 9 days of filming. Our aim was to conclude it on a high note, filled with fun and celebration.
“I proposed to my father that Salman should don a nighty for the final act. Salman was on board right away, but my father dismissed the idea as inappropriate. However, the entire team was so excited about it that we decided to put it to a vote among the ladies present. All the dancers, including Madhuri, found it amusing and insisted we should pursue it.”
He went on to reveal that it was Madhuri who applied Salman’s makeup for the scene.
“Ultimately, Madhuri herself did Salman’s makeup for that scene,” he noted.
“Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” is a musical romantic drama that celebrates Indian wedding traditions through the narrative of a married couple and their families' dynamics; a tale about prioritizing family love over personal desires.
Barjatya is now making his entry into OTT with “Bada Naam Karenge”, a Gen-Z love story focused on rediscovering one’s roots.
