Chennai, Jan 20 (NationPress) The renowned director Sudha Kongara has shared a touching tribute for the late producer Mano Akkineni, who was not just a producer but also her closest friend.

In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Sudha Kongara, currently working on her next film starring Sivakarthikeyan, shared a nostalgic picture taken in 2008 in Panvel with Mano Akkineni.

She expressed, “My first producer and my best friend. RIP Mano Akkineni. May you shine as bright among the stars above as you did on this earth. I will miss you dearly. You have always been my first audience, watching my initial cuts. This film I’m working on now is dedicated to you, Mano, because I know you’ll be watching my every move as one of cinema's greatest enthusiasts. Two crazy fan girls - 2008, Panvel.”

Sudha Kongara’s debut Tamil film ‘Drohi’ was produced by Mano Akkineni, featuring actors Srikanth, Vishnu Vishal, Shamna Kasim, and Poonam Bajwa in lead roles. The film, which included music by Selvaganesh and cinematography by Alphonse Roy, was edited by Sreekar Prasad and released in September 2010.

In the meantime, Sudha Kongara’s upcoming film with Sivakarthikeyan is a large-scale period drama.

During a recent interview, Sivakarthikeyan revealed that actors Sreeleela and Atharvaa are also part of the cast, with G V Prakash composing the music and Ravi K Chandran handling cinematography.

He also mentioned that Ravi Mohan will portray the antagonist, describing the character as a “very, very strong character” and that he was thrilled when Ravi agreed to take on the role.
