Narmadapuram, Dec 16 (NationPress) The inhabitants of Narmadapuram district in Madhya Pradesh are reaping the rewards of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya JanAushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), leading to a substantial decrease in their medical expenses.
The Jan Aushadhi Kendras, established under the PM-BJP initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are supplying medications at significantly reduced prices compared to traditional branded pharmacies.
A Jan Aushadhi Kendra has been set up in the district hospital, facilitated by the Red Cross, allowing numerous patients to benefit from purchasing lower-cost medications daily.
The availability of affordable medicines represents a major shift from previous practices, creating a sense of joy among the community.
The Jan Aushadhi Kendra, managed by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sunita Kalme, is providing substantial relief to local residents who are now able to procure affordable medications.
Several beneficiaries discussed the advantages of this transformative scheme with IANS.
One beneficiary, Alok Sharma, mentioned that many individuals like himself previously had to purchase costly medications from outside sources but can now obtain them at lower prices. He remarked, "PM Modi has launched an excellent initiative, and the public will greatly benefit from it."
Another beneficiary, Ashish Soni, stated, "While there are extremely pricey medications in the market, one can purchase them at very low rates from Jan Aushadhi Kendras."
Keshav Sahu shared that he is treating his father at this district hospital.
“The sugar tablet that used to cost Rs 260 for my father is now available for just Rs 27 through the Jan Aushadhi Kendra. The blood pressure medication that used to be priced at Rs 180 can now be obtained here for Rs 18,” he explained.
“When my father fell severely ill, I took him to Bhopal AIIMS. The total cost for medications there reached Rs 5,200. However, I acquired the same medicines from the Jan Aushadhi Centre for only Rs 1,250. Previously, my monthly expenditure on my father's medications was Rs 6,000, but it has now dropped to Rs 700 to 800,” he added.
