Shajapur, Dec 11 (NationPress) Jan Aushadhi Kendras are making remarkable progress in reshaping the healthcare sector of the nation by providing low-cost and accessible medicines for the underprivileged, earning commendations from the general public.
In the Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh, Vikram Bhavsar is filled with joy and hope for his future after securing a position at one of the city’s Jan Aushadhi centers, which operate under the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PM-BJP).
The Jan Aushadhi Kendra was inaugurated some time back, and he feels content and relieved to have found a stable job through this initiative.
In an interview with IANS, he mentioned that the Jan Aushadhi Kendra, located within the city’s hospital, dispenses generic medications to numerous patients daily, as thousands flock to the center seeking affordable treatment.
"This center not only supplies low-cost medicines to patients but also creates job opportunities for the youth," he expressed.
He expressed his gratitude to the government, stating that his employment at the Jan Aushadhi Kendra has significantly aided him in providing for his family.
"The center is offering inexpensive medicines to ordinary citizens, which is of great benefit to them," he remarked.
The manager of the Jan Aushadhi Kendra stated that this facility serves hundreds of patients each day and remains dedicated to delivering affordable medications to the public.
A beneficiary named Shafeeq shared, "Previously, we purchased medicines costing Rs 500-600, but now they are available for just Rs 300 at the Jan Aushadhi centers. We are saving a substantial amount by opting for generic medicines. We are grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing such a beneficial policy for the underprivileged."
The extraordinary success of the PM-BJP scheme is evident as it has recorded sales of medicines worth Rs 6,100 crore through these centers over the last decade, resulting in an estimated savings of Rs 30,000 crore.
