Pezeshkian indicated that Iran is keen on advancing relations with Azerbaijan across various domains including economic, political, cultural, defense, and security. He urged the prompt removal of barriers to bilateral cooperation in trade and transportation, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

He mentioned that preserving the territorial integrity of regional nations is a core principle of Iran's foreign policy, underscoring that any alteration to regional borders is unacceptable to Iran.

Pezeshkian pointed out that the involvement of certain foreign powers makes it essential for regional nations to bolster unity and avoid discord.

The Iranian president stressed that his country aims to enhance relations and cooperation among all Muslim nations and elevate the strength of the Muslim world, stating, "We strive to foster ties with neighboring and Muslim nations as we believe that any discord or division among Muslims could invite interference from adversaries and incite division."

Hajiyev reiterated Azerbaijan's firm dedication to advancing relations and collaboration with Iran.

He remarked that Azerbaijan aims to elevate its relationship with Iran, a goal for which the groundwork is already in place.

Hajiyev was in Iran for a two-day visit at the invitation of Mehdi Sanaei, a senior political aide to the Iranian president and deputy for political affairs in the presidential office.
