Kuwait City, Dec 22 (NationPress) Kuwait on Sunday awarded its highest honour 'The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer' to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recognizing his remarkable achievements and efforts to enhance relations between the two nations.

Kuwait City, Dec 22 (NationPress) On Sunday, Kuwait honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with its highest distinction, 'The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer', in recognition of his exemplary contributions and the initiatives taken to fortify ties between the two nations.

This accolade marks the 20th international honor conferred upon PM Modi by a foreign country.

'The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer' is a prestigious knighthood of Kuwait, named after the seventh ruler, Mubarak bin Sabah Al-Sabah, who rose to power in 1896 and significantly advanced Kuwait during his reign.

This honor is presented to Heads of State, foreign Sovereigns, and members of royal families as a symbol of camaraderie.

Notable recipients of this award include former leaders like Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, and George Bush, in addition to distinguished figures such as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Muhammad bin Salman.

In the previous month, PM Modi was also awarded 'The Order of Excellence', Guyana’s highest civilian honor, by President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, acknowledging his visionary leadership and commitment to advocating for developing nations on the world stage.

During the India-CARICOM Summit in Guyana, Dominica honored PM Modi with the 'Dominica Award of Honour' for his substantial support during the Covid-19 crisis and his dedication to enhancing India-Dominica relations.

Furthermore, Nigeria conferred upon him the prestigious Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) during his inaugural official visit in November, making him the first foreign leader to receive this award since 1969 when Queen Elizabeth was honored.

The conferral of 'The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer' elevates PM Modi's total civilian honors to an unprecedented 20, underscoring his leadership and India's rising prominence on the international scene.

Experts believe this reflects India's strengthened diplomatic ties and its growing influence.

Before receiving honors from Kuwait, Guyana, Dominica, and Nigeria, PM Modi had previously been recognized with the highest civilian awards from Saudi Arabia (King Abdulaziz Sash, 2016), Afghanistan (State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan, 2016), Palestine (Grand Collar of the State of Palestine Award, 2018), UAE (Order of Zayed Award, 2019), Russia (Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, 2019 - awarded to PM Modi in July 2024), Maldives (Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddin, 2019), Bahrain (King Hamad Order of the Renaissance, 2019), the US (Legion of Merit by the US Armed Forces in 2020), Bhutan (Order of the Druk Gyalpo, 2021), Papua New Guinea (Ebakl Award, 2023), Fiji (Companion of the Order of Fiji, 2023), Papua New Guinea (Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu, 2023), Egypt (Order of Nile, 2023), France (Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, 2023), and Greece (Grand Cross of the Order of Honour, 2023).

Apart from these top civilian distinctions, PM Modi has also received a multitude of esteemed awards from various global organizations.
