New Delhi, Feb 8 (NationPress) In a subtle jab at the INDIA bloc members AAP and Congress, following reports suggesting the BJP has surpassed the majority threshold in the Delhi Assembly elections, Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister Omar Abdullah remarked that the two opposition factions should continue to engage in conflict until they exhaust each other.

On the social media platform X, the National Conference leader posted a GIF stating: "Aur lado, jee bhar ke lado, samapt kar do ek dusre ko (Fight...fight to your heart's content, finish each other off)".

The Congress and AAP, which collaborated in the Lok Sabha elections under the INDIA banner, opted for an independent approach in the Delhi Assembly elections, openly criticizing one another and labeling each other as the BJP's "B-team".

Last month, when the Congress and AAP declared their intention to contest the Delhi elections separately, Abdullah expressed that there was no clear direction regarding the INDIA bloc or its leadership, suggesting it should be disbanded if it was merely a temporary arrangement for the general elections.

The National Conference, a significant member of the INDIA coalition, largely maintained a neutral stance during the Delhi elections, unlike other allies such as the Trinamool Congress and the Samajwadi Party, who publicly endorsed and supported the AAP.

Abdullah conveyed that he had no comments to make regarding AAP and Congress' decisions, as he was not involved in the Delhi elections.

He previously expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of clarity surrounding the leadership of the INDIA bloc and the absence of meetings, questioning its very existence.

Earlier, Abdullah advocated for a strategic shift within the INDIA alliance in a timely manner, warning that failure to do so would undermine the alliance's purpose.

"If we persist on this divisive path, it will not bode well for the future of the INDIA Bloc," he noted.

Following the initial counting rounds, trends indicate that the BJP has crossed the majority mark, leading with 42 seats, while the AAP has secured 28.
