Patna, March 13 (NationPress) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has taken a decisive approach against 'Inspector Raj' and 'Mafia Raj' in the Mines and Geology Department, ensuring that truck owners and transporters will not face harassment.
Sinha indicated that stringent measures will be imposed on the illegal actions of officials. “Anyone involved in illegal activities will face strict action,” he stated.
Additionally, Sinha introduced a specific WhatsApp helpline number 9472238821 for lodging complaints. This initiative aims to provide truck owners with a means to report issues, traffic congestion, and accidents.
“The department will take immediate action on complaints received,” he affirmed.
With this, truck operators now possess a direct line to report concerns. Sinha also noted that some individuals attempted to provoke a transport strike under the influence of the mafia; however, due to the government’s stringent position, the strike was unsuccessful.
Sinha reiterated the government’s determination to combat illegal mining and transport operations. He stressed that strict actions will be enforced against any official, law enforcement personnel, or individual found breaking the law.
Sinha remarked that close monitoring of the mining and transport departments is currently underway in Bihar.
“Both departments are interconnected, and the government is closely observing illegal activities by their officials,” he stated.
He directed officers to avoid stopping trucks unnecessarily and urged them to modify the conventional checking system to prevent the harassment of truck owners.
Vijay Kumar Sinha pointed out that NH-922 (Patna-Buxar) and Bhojpur-Sonpur road bridge are heavily congested due to an influx of sand-laden trucks. The stretch between Bihta (Patna) and Sakaddi (Bhojpur) remains obstructed with traffic. He instructed officials from the traffic and transport departments to resolve this issue.
Excessive sand mining along the Son River from Sahar to Koilwar in Bhojpur has resulted in thousands of overloaded trucks traversing NH-922 and the Sahar-Sakaddi state highway, leading to traffic snarls on these routes.
The government is actively overseeing operations to ensure that transporters can function without mafia interference.
