Bengaluru, Feb 11 (NationPress) Adani Defence & Aerospace, in partnership with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), introduced a state-of-the-art Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System during the ‘Aero India 2025’ event. This advanced system represents a major advancement in India’s defensive capabilities against emerging aerial threats. As drones increasingly play a role in modern warfare for reconnaissance and offensive actions, a strong anti-drone solution has become essential, as highlighted by the company.

During the launch, Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, remarked, “This launch signifies the success of India's defence innovation ecosystem, supported by DRDO's top-tier research and development and the Transfer of Technology framework.”

Adani Defence & Aerospace is dedicated to converting DRDO’s advanced technology into a deployable solution that enhances our military's ability to tackle evolving drone challenges.

“By utilizing our superior manufacturing capabilities, we pledge to provide our armed forces with the most advanced, local defence technologies to protect the nation’s strategic interests,” he stated.

The platform was inaugurated by Dr B.K. Das, Director General (Electronics and Communication System), DRDO, in the presence of defence specialists and industry collaborators, emphasizing India’s dedication to boosting domestic defence capabilities.

The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System guarantees long-range defense, agility, and accuracy, making it a valuable asset for contemporary military forces. It ensures comprehensive protection through cutting-edge sensor technology, including automatic detection, classification, and drone neutralization.

Mounted on a single 4x4 vehicle, the system presents a highly mobile, agile, dependable, and autonomous counter-drone solution. It incorporates a high-energy laser system for accurate drone neutralization, a 7.62 mm firearm for engaging aerial threats, and advanced radar, SIGINT, electro-optical sensors, and jammers for real-time target identification, tracking, and neutralization within a range of 10 km. The integration of diverse counter-drone technologies into a single platform enables swift response and operational versatility, making it essential for protecting India’s defence infrastructure.

Das noted that the launch of this drone system is a vital step in fortifying India’s defence readiness against asymmetric threats.

“This system combines multiple counter-drone technologies into a highly mobile setup, ensuring prompt response and operational adaptability. DRDO remains devoted to crafting indigenous, next-generation solutions in partnership with the Indian industry to enhance national security. We are confident that this system will be instrumental in safeguarding key defence and civilian assets against the rising threat from rogue drones,” he emphasized.

The introduction of this system underlines India’s commitment to developing state-of-the-art defence technologies domestically, decreasing dependence on imports, and enhancing national security.

As unmanned aerial threats evolve, the collaboration between Adani Defence & Aerospace and DRDO signifies a landmark achievement in advancing India’s defence capabilities with world-class, homegrown solutions, as stated by the company.
