Patna, Feb 4 (NationPress) In anticipation of Rahul Gandhi's upcoming visit to Patna, Bihar's Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has launched a fierce critique of the Congress leader, asserting that his public engagements will only serve to damage his party further.

“Wherever Rahul Gandhi goes, he only weakens the Congress. Whatever he says in public will damage his party further,” Chaudhary stated.

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Patna on February 5 to participate in the 'Azadi Ke Parwane' program, an event honoring the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Jaglal Chaudhary.

Jaglal Chaudhary, who also held the position of Bihar’s Excise Minister, was instrumental in implementing the liquor ban in the state.

The event featuring Rahul Gandhi will take place at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall located at Gandhi Maidan. This will mark Gandhi's second visit to Bihar within a span of 20 days.

Discussing the matter of the caste census, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary accused Rahul Gandhi of being out of touch with the developments in Bihar.

“Rahul Gandhi does not even know that a caste survey has already been conducted in Bihar, and its data has been released. The government also increased the reservation percentage for Dalits and backward classes based on the survey findings. Now, suddenly, he has woken up and is talking about it without understanding the facts,” he remarked.

The minister went on to highlight that Bihar has taken the lead in conducting caste-based surveys, crediting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for this initiative.

“If anyone is serious about the caste census, it is Nitish Kumar. Bihar has shown the way to the entire country on this matter,” Chaudhary emphasized.

During his previous visit to Patna, Rahul Gandhi had targeted Nitish Kumar regarding the caste census issue.

In response, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary reiterated that Bihar had already conducted the survey and taken appropriate action.
